“Hopefully one day I can play for Valencia CF”
The individual award winners of the VCF Academy World Cup reflect on the tournament and share their hopes for the future.
Interview with Gábor Takács
Dinamo Star SE of Hungary were the deserved champion of the IV VCF Academy World Cup, and went home happy with the entire experience of the Under-12s tournament.
“It's been a fantastic week,” explains Gábor Takács, Director of Dinamo Star SE.
“We've really enjoyed ourselves with the kids. We've been very competitive in the training sessions, in the friendlies, and in the tournament itself, and we've really enjoyed ourselves."
“Off the pitch, it's been an even better experience. They've been able to make friends from other countries and see how VCF Academies work in other countries. I think it's a lifelong experience,” he continued.
THE VICTORY
Takacs was able to celebrate with his players after Dinamo Star SE joined FK Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania, Polisportiva Bruinese of Italy, and Escoles VCF, whom they defeated in the grand final, as winners of the tournament in its various editions.
“We only ask one thing of the kids: That they try to get better in every game -because they have to improve to get results. We're happy to win, but if we don't win, it doesn't matter, because they're good players and are developing well. The most important thing is their mentality: how they improve long-term, have confidence on the pitch, be brave, and try to improve in every game.”
